Hi, I'm Paul, the founder of TraderStoa.

Welcome to TraderStoa. Like most traders, my path wasn't a straight line. I've been trading for over a decade, but like most traders there were good years, rough years, and plenty of lessons I paid for the hard way. Along the way I spent my career in fintech and Silicon Valley companies, leading product teams at companies that build great products for investors and financial professionals. That gave me a front-row seat to how good tools get built, and it made the gaps in what everyday traders have to work with hard to ignore.

That's where TraderStoa started. I kept running into the limits of the standard studies on thinkorswim, so I started building my own. I use every one of them on my own charts, with my own money, in live markets. Over time I realized other traders were probably dealing with the same frustrations, and I wanted to share what's been working for me.

So why "TraderStoa"? I follow the principles of Stoicism, the old Greek philosophy built on discipline, patience, and focusing on what you can control. Those happen to be the same traits that separate consistent traders from everyone else. Stoicism gets its name from the Stoa, a covered porch in ancient Athens where people gathered to learn, debate, and sharpen their thinking. That's what I want this place to be: a Stoa for traders, where you can come to get better with your fellow traders.

The goal is simple: to help traders reach alpha. Alpha is the edge that lets you beat the market instead of just riding it. No tool can hand you that, but the right tools paired with the right mindset can help you find it, and that's what we're here for.
